The Do Good Fund, Inc. is a Columbus, Georgia-based public charity. Since its founding in 2012, the fund has focused on building a museum-quality collection of photographs taken in the American South since World War II. The collection ranges from works by more than twenty Guggenheim Fellows to images by lesser-known and emerging photographers in the region.

Do Good’s mission is to make its collection of more than 800 images broadly accessible through regional museums, nonprofit galleries, and nontraditional venues and to encourage complementary, community-based programming to accompany each exhibition. Visit thedogoodfund.org to learn more.

Cherish What Remains is a collection of images and stories from both the Do Good Fund’s permanent collection and borrowed from the photographer that brings to light the dichotomy and ongoing challenges to our region’s natural environment; and the bewildering contrasts of great environmental beauty and degradation that exist side-by-side throughout the American South.

The exhibition features loaned work by Benjamin Dimmitt and Chuck Hemard, as well as artists Stacy Kranitz and Jeff Rich from the Do Good Fund’s permanent collection. Cherish What Remains is presented in partnership with the Nature Now Film Festival and will feature a lunch and learn in the Do Good Gallery with Benjamin Dimmitt who will discuss his series An Unflinching Look which addresses the impact of the rising sea levels in Florida.
